What is FactCheckTool?

FactCheckTool is an advanced fact-checking platform that analyzes online content and provides credibility scores from 1-100. We help you verify articles, videos, social media posts, and more by cross-referencing information against reliable sources.

How does FactCheckTool work?

Our process is simple:

  • Step 1: You paste a URL (article, video, or social media post)
  • Step 2: Our system analyzes the content using Deep Fact Checking (DFC)
  • Step 3: You receive a detailed report with credibility scores and verified sources

The entire process takes just seconds.

What types of content can I fact-check?

You can fact-check:

  • YouTube videos and YouTube Shorts
  • Instagram posts, reels, and carousels
  • TikTok videos
  • Twitter/X posts and videos
  • Facebook posts and videos
  • News articles and blog posts
  • Research papers and documents
  • Any publicly accessible web content

How accurate is FactCheckTool?

Our system provides high accuracy by cross-referencing multiple verified sources and databases. However, we recommend using our tool as one of several methods for verifying information.

Every result includes citations and links to original sources so you can verify the verification yourself. We're transparent about our methodology and confidence levels.

Can I check text directly without a URL?

Yes! You can switch to "Text" mode and paste any text content (minimum 100 characters, maximum 10,000 characters) for fact-checking. This is useful for checking claims, quotes, or content from sources that don't have public URLs.

Can I upload a file (PDF, image, audio, or video)?

Yes. Use File mode to upload supported files such as PDFs, images, audio, and video for analysis.

  • PDF limit: documents are limited to 20 pages.
  • Security: uploads are scanned for malware before processing.
  • Privacy: uploaded files are stored temporarily for processing and then deleted from our system.

For audio/video, we also generate a transcript (when possible) to improve claim extraction and verification.

Account & Usage

Do I need an account to use FactCheckTool?

You get one free fact-check without an account. When you create an account, you get 2 additional free checks. After that, you'll need to subscribe to one of our plans to continue using the service.

What are credits and how do they work?

Credits are used for fact-checking. 1 credit = 1 successful fact-check. Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation:

  • Starter: Starter: 30 credits/month ($14/month)
  • Pro: Pro: 80 credits/month ($29/month) - includes 20 bonus credits
  • Business: Business: 150 credits/month ($59/month) - includes 30 bonus credits
  • Enterprise: Enterprise: 680 credits/month ($299/month) - includes 80 bonus credits

Credits reset at the start of your billing cycle and do not roll over to the next month.

What happens if I run out of credits?

If you run out of credits before your billing cycle resets, you can:

  • Wait until your next billing cycle (credits reset monthly)
  • Upgrade to a higher plan with more credits
  • Contact us for custom enterprise solutions if you consistently need more

Can I access my check history?

Yes! All paid plan subscribers can access their complete check history from their dashboard. You can view, re-download, and share previous fact-check reports at any time.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from your account settings page. Once deleted, all your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where required by law.

If you have an active subscription, please cancel it first before deleting your account.

Pricing & Billing

What are your pricing plans?

We offer four subscription plans:

  • Starter: Starter: $14/month - 30 credits
  • Pro: Pro: $29/month - 80 credits (60 + 20 bonus)
  • Business: Business: $59/month - 150 credits (120 + 30 bonus) + priority support
  • Enterprise: Enterprise: $299/month - 680 credits (600 + 80 bonus) + dedicated account manager

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes! You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. When you cancel:

  • You keep access until the end of your billing period
  • No future charges will be applied
  • Your remaining credits stay active until the period ends
  • Your account reverts to free tier after the period ends

Do you offer refunds?

We do not offer refunds. All sales are final. However, you can:

  • Try our service with 1 free check before creating an account
  • Get 2 additional free checks when you sign up
  • Cancel your subscription anytime to prevent future charges

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes! You can change your plan at any time from your dashboard. When you upgrade, you get immediate access to the new plan's features and credits. When you downgrade, changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through our secure payment processor Stripe. All transactions are encrypted and PCI-compliant.

Do unused credits roll over?

No, credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over. We recommend choosing a plan that matches your typical monthly usage.

Is my data secure?

How long does a fact-check take?

Most fact-checks complete in 30-90 seconds. Processing time depends on:

  • Content length (longer videos take more time)
  • Content type (videos require transcript extraction)
  • Complexity of claims being verified
  • Current server load

You'll see real-time progress updates during processing.

I'm experiencing technical issues. What should I do?

If you're experiencing issues:

  • Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache
  • Ensure you're using a supported browser
  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify the URL is public and accessible
  • Try again in a few minutes (server may be temporarily busy)

Can I fact-check private or password-protected content?

No, we can only analyze publicly accessible content. If content requires login credentials or is behind a paywall, our system cannot access it. For such content, you can copy the text and use our "Text" mode instead.
