FactCheckTool 2.0 is our most significant update since launch. We expanded platform support massively, added file upload fact-checking, and made the whole experience noticeably faster. Same mission: fight misinformation, one fact-check at a time.
What's New in 2.0
This release marks a major leap — not incremental additions, but a fundamental expansion of what FactCheckTool can analyze and how fast it does it. Here are the headline changes:
- Expanded platform coverage: we now support 15+ platforms across social media, video, and web content.
- File uploads: upload PDFs, images, audio, and video files directly for fact-checking.
- Faster pipeline: fact-checks now complete in a fraction of the previous time.
- Better source analysis: every result now includes more detailed source references, ranked by reliability.

FactCheckTool 2.0 covers virtually every type of online content you might want to verify:

How File Uploads Work
The process is straightforward: upload a file, the DFC engine (Deep Fact Checking) analyzes the content, and you receive a full fact-check report in seconds. Whether it is a PDF document, a viral image, an audio clip, or a video — FactCheckTool extracts the claims, cross-references them against reliable sources, and delivers a clear verdict.
- Upload: select your file (PDF, JPG, PNG, WEBP, MP3, WAV, AAC, MP4, MOV, AVI, and other supported formats).
- Analysis: the DFC engine processes the content and extracts all verifiable claims.
- Report: receive a detailed verdict with sources, reliability scores, and context.
- Privacy: all uploaded files are automatically deleted after 24 hours — nothing is stored permanently.
Why This Matters
Misinformation does not respect platform boundaries. It spreads on YouTube, hides in PDFs, disguises itself in images, and circulates through audio clips. Limiting fact-checking to web links alone meant leaving entire categories of misleading content unchecked. With FactCheckTool 2.0, that gap no longer exists.
