Bird Buddy

I've always loved watching birds and having my own bird buddy has brought really a lot of joy! I don't have a back yard of my own, but my parents in law do, so we installed it there and got a family subscription so we can all watch the birds. It was a very straight forward process to set it up, and the solar roof helps a lot with charging during the summer - I haven't had to charge it yet. I love the app! It's very intuitive and works well. They added a list of all birds with description, so now I don't have to leave the app to know more about the birds that are visiting us. One thing I noticed is that different species are attracted to different kind of bird feed. All in all, we are super happy with our product!

Getting my father openly excited about anything has proven virtually impossible over the years, but Bird Buddy finally got the job done! I was expecting his usual grumpy call, either to tell me he didn’t like the feeder I gifted him or to complain that the setup process was too difficult. Instead, he was excitedly urging me to open a link he sent—so I could become a guest member on his new bird-watching station??? I didn’t even realize this was an option! Two months in, I was hooked and ended up getting the hummingbird version of the feeder myself. I’m also seriously considering joining their next Kickstarter campaign since we have plenty of butterflies and different insects in our garden, and would love to learn more about them! I truly have nothing bad to say about this product.

My husband and I got a Bird Buddy for Christmas from our kids, and when we opened it, I’ll be honest, I thought, oh great, another gadget I’ll have to get my son to set up. And it turns out that yes, I did. LOL. The WiFi kept having weird issues and wouldn’t connect at first, so it took even my tech savvy son a few hours to figure it out. But now that it works, both me and my hubby are obsessed. Fully invested. Emotionally attached. Did not see this coming!! 🤣 We love spending a lot of time in the backyard in general. We do gardening together, and recently drink coffee there and debate whether we actually need to sow that many tomatoes for 2025 LOL, and now we also keep researching how to get more birds to visit. We’re looking into getting some more accessories later this year like the bigger landing perch, and maybe the water fountain one, so that we get some bigger birds to visit too. The squirrels haven’t found us yet, but the food still cannot be filled up fast enough, so I kinda wish the seed holder was bigger. But it’s easy to use at least, and SO MUCH FUN!! Our grandkids are really into it too, and want us to buy the premium tier in the app so they can spy on the birds and give them names from their phone. 🤣 We’ll see! Turning out to be one of our favorite gifts ever otherwise and I will be recommending it to my friends (or their kids LOL, since it’s so much better to get it as a gift 😉). If you’re wanting one, though, definitely get it!!

I even caught a rare bird I never knew visited my area! If you're even thinking about getting one, do it! It’s a perfect gift for nature lovers, tech enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to feel a little closer to the magic of birds.

I've had the Bird Buddy for over a year now and I love it. I saw that they had issues with fulfilling orders this holiday season and that has happened in the past but I got mine within days, so I think it might just be the holiday rush. They're a start up so they're probably still small and don't have unlimited stock. I had some issues initially with pairing but it turns out I just didn't read the instructions well enough and the Support team was able to help me get it up and running. Since then, barring minor app bugs that have been resolved, I've had absolutely no issues and have been enjoying it a lot. They recently launched a new camera PRO that I got and it's a really big improvement on the original module. Some people on the internet complain about their AI recognition and I had issues with it recently but I reached out to Support again and they informed me they now have this new home feed filter I didn't know I had set. It lets through postcards of lower quality or where the species wasn't recognized, so that people can get more postcards if they wish to. I prefer the curated mode, which is the original mode that only sends postcards where birds were identified. A few misidentifications here and there on that as well but overall really impressive for a machine. And their Support is honestly great; they've helped me a lot in the past. 5/5!

I got the Bird Buddy as a Christmas gift and I was really excited to use it. I am interested in bird watching, so this gift took my interest to a completely new level! I had no issues assembling everything up, but when I wanted to connect my camera I was experiencing some connection issues, as it would not want to pair. So I reached out to customer support, where they were quick to help me troubleshoot the camera, which is now working great. I am extremely happy with my Bird Buddy and will definitely be checking out the new products they have announced, especially the new Bird Bath! So great!

I bought the Bird Buddy for Christmas to see what all the hype was about—even though I’m not an avid bird watcher. After using it for a month, I was pleasantly surprised and decided to pick up the PRO version as well. The device captures some truly entertaining photos of birds (yes, their butts, too), which always make me laugh and help relieve stress. I ran into a few issues with the postcard feature, but the Bird Buddy tech support team provided a thorough explanation, complete with graphs and all the necessary details. They clearly have a talented group working there. As an engineer who’s worked on numerous projects, this experience sparked my creativity—something I haven’t felt in a while. My only wish is that their support team would respond more quickly and that they’d offer a better phone support system. However, considering the busy holiday season, it’s clear they’re doing their best to resolve everyone’s issues. Overall, I hope this review inspires someone else to try the Bird Buddy and join in on the fun of watching those hilarious bird butts!
