An absolute scam, fooling people into using their services and then charging horrible fees to keep the QR codes working. The reviews here are probably fake as well, on other review sites the service gets a 1 star by ALL reviewers.

I was scammed too: nowhere was it clearly stated, that the link is a redirect which will be disabled after 7 days (such an information cannot be buried in the TOS, but has to be promimently visible in the order-page. This practise is against EU-law). The link in the QR-code gets substituted in the last moment by a redirect over qrfy.io so you aren't aware of this trojan while preparing the QR-code. Fortunately I did a last scan of the QR-code before sending costly banners in print and recognised the scam. After 7 days I got an e-mail: the QR-code is disabled, unless I pay... And since then I get an e-mail every 2 days stating that someone has scanned my QR-code and urging me to pay. This is a lie, as I fortunately never published this QR-code anywhere. They are scammers and liars and against EU-law.

I strongly advise against using QRfy. Their service appears to be free, but after you create and print your QR code, they block access to your content unless you pay a high monthly subscription (CHF 39.99/month in my case). I used it for our wedding Save the Date cards, which are already printed and sealed — and only then found out that the QR code would become useless after a short “trial”. There is no one-time payment option, no warning during creation, and the whole experience feels like a bait-and-switch scam. I had no choice but to pay just to avoid ruining our invites. Do yourself a favor and use a truly free QR generator. QRfy is not trustworthy.

SCAM! This site was found using google search for Free QR code generator. It was the top result. When you visit the site you are taken directly to the page to enter your URL and generate a code to print. Unless you scroll down to the FAQ section or look through the links on the website, you never realize the company plans to hold your QR code hostage after your "Free trial" period of seven days ends and you get an email letting you know the code has been deactivated and the only way you can get it back is to pay a ridiculously overpriced subscription fee.

I deeply regret ever using QRFY! This company is highly misleading and unethical. Nowhere during the QR code creation process did they clearly state that the service was only free for 7 days—they conveniently hide this crucial detail until they start charging an outrageous amount! To make matters worse, their customer support is nonexistent. I have sent multiple emails, LinkedIn messages, and requests for help, but no one bothers to respond. They are more than happy to take your money but refuse to provide basic assistance. When I finally decided to pay (because my QR code was already circulated), my card kept getting declined—and guess what? There is no clear payment alternative, no customer service, and absolutely no way to get a resolution. This is a classic bait-and-switch scam, and I strongly advise everyone to STAY AWAY. Use a trusted QR code generator that actually values its customers instead of tricking them into expensive, hidden subscriptions. I will be reporting this company for fraud and making sure others don’t fall into the same trap. If you’re considering using QRFY—DON’T! ❌

QRFY is not a scam, but their customer service and billing practices leave much to be desired. I generated a single QR code in early 2024 and, despite multiple attempts, was never able to retrieve it through their support team. Fast forward a year later, and I received an email at 5 PM the night before my subscription renewal—far too short notice. Of course, I missed it, and my card was charged the next morning. When I contacted support to explain that I hadn’t used the service in nearly a year and requested a refund, I was met with a canned response citing their terms and conditions. While I accept responsibility for not canceling in advance, it seems unfair to quietly renew inactive accounts without a proper reminder. A customer-friendly approach would be to send renewal notices further in advance and, ideally, a mid-year check-in for inactive users. If QRFY truly values its customers, it should reconsider its communication strategy—reminding inactive users of their subscription and sending renewal notices with ample time to take action. As it stands, their approach feels more like a cash grab than a customer-centric service.

Except that you must visit the page "Plans and prices" that says clearly "Try it for 7 days for free before subscribing to the plan that best suits your needs" I think that the site is reliable, and if we are more careful there is no further problem. Always search for such terms and conditions. There are also very cooperative. Even if I did the same mistake as many here (create a qrcode and then realize that it was only for 7 days), additionally to that mistake I billed myself for a year thinking it was only for a month... even then, I wrote to them immediately and they refunded me. So I don't know what others say, in my case it was a great relief because this qr code was not even for me. I am very pleased it ended in such a good way, I recommend them.

Formal Complaint Regarding QR Code Service Refusal of Refund I subscribed to your QR code service on an annual plan, paying €239.88, and canceled within 14 days of purchase. Despite your website's claim that cancellation was available "anytime," you refused to provide any refund. Your company: - Denied my refund request within the 14-day cooling-off period - Disregarded EU consumer protection laws regarding digital service cancellations - Failed to offer any compromise solution - Charged me €239.88 for approximately 10 days of service use This represents an unconscionable business practice that violates consumer rights. I am pursuing this matter through appropriate consumer protection channels and regulatory authorities. I expect a full refund immediately in accordance with EU law.

Horrible. I thought this was a reliable source and the only option you have are to subscribe a minimum of 3 months. I found myself in a situation where I had to use them. After the 1 QR code I made I immediately cancelled all subscriptions and after 2 months completely deleted my account. THEY CHARGED Me AGAIN. I have reported them to my credit card company.

I've used a QR from "QRFY.com" in my resume (hard copy) and submitted it to some companies. A week later, I got a mail: One of your QRs received a scan but it was disabled To reactivate your QR Codes and unlock the full potential of QRFY, we recommend upgrading to one of our affordable paid plans
