I signed up with Jumpspeak, tried it, and it's no better than, say, DuoLingo (which is free). The Listening exercises play a short sentence, then you have two options about what was just said. It's a pointless exercise, as even if you understood nothing in the sentence, there's one obvious answer, and an (AI-generated ?) obviously-wrong second answer. Or, sometimes, they just show the correct answer a second time, so both options are correct !! A nice looking app, but completely pointless. The only positive thing I have to say is that I requested a refund, and they processed it within a day.

Terrible customer service. I signed up for the app, it was fine, but stopped using it, and a year later got auto-charged even though there was no warning that the charge was upcoming (cool ethics, guys). They will not refund me because it's part of their terms (which some companies will do as a goodwill gesture). So yeah, I just donated a bunch of money to some guy named Sean Kim so he owes me a dinner because this was a lot of money to waste, unknowingly, on a service I'm not even using. Do NOT give them your credit card. Waste of money and time. Not a great reputation.

Made a purchase, charged twice, Jumpspeak (and Google) refused to refund me one of the two Tried to purchased a lifetime subscription. I though I pressed the wrong button or didn't push hard enough when the first click had no response and I tried again. Then I found I got charged twice. A Dozens emails and trying to get past Google Bots later. Here are the lastest correspondences. Right now I am placed on a Google virtual answering machine and Jumpspeak pretended nothing ever happened Jumpspeak This is Cynthia with Jumpspeak. It seems we may have been included on this thread in error. I am happy to help with any technical aspects of Jumpspeak, but we are unable to provide a refund from our system here. --- The contract we have with Google Play does not allow us to provide refunds for purchases made through Google Play. Google We see that you've requested a refund for the order (GPA.--). I can completely understand your situation and empathize with it. As a one-time courtesy we tried to process a refund for your order but I'm afraid it was not granted based on our Google Play refund policies. However you're definitely not out of options: You might want to reach out to your developer on this since Google Play acts as an online marketplace, you are actually making the purchase from the app developer. Developers are solely responsible for delivering any content and making sure that it works as intended, and providing refunds in accordance with their policies. According to our Terms of Cooperation, developers of apps have their own refund policies and if it meets their policy requirements, you might also receive a refund. AVOID. It says TRY 100 DAYS. There is no trial, you are billed immediately. After you sign up, you quickly find out via about 10 pages of "addons" that whatever you signed up for really does nothing. They get you in and charge you and then the pages follow showing what you signed up for, one check on the list, premium AI has all the features they tout and that increases the cost 1.5x and that is just the first Addon they push on you.

They refuse to cancel my membership. I have reached out on several occasions over the last few months with no response. Jumpspeak does NOT have a phone number or email and in order to cancel, you have to run through a website prompt that essentially leads nowhere. It's a complete waste of my time and now I've resorted to contacting my CC company to set up a block and to dispute these charges. Outrageously poor customer experience.

I think the app is actually really good. I, inadvertently, purchased it twice and Jumpspeak canceled my earlier subscription and said they couldn't refund it because it was past the 100 days. Why they didn't offer to cancel the most recent refund, I don't know. The bottom line, expect disingenuousness and obfuscation if you're dealing with customer service.
