If you're constantly taking notes and are overwhelmed by the volume, then you need an app to capture them all without having to worry about the organization process. That's what Mem does really well. Mem's features make it easy to find, clarify, cross reference and combine your information so you can start making it useful. Mem behaves like an interactive second brain more than any other tool I've tried. The more info you give it, the more it can help you as a personal assistant. Once Mem has OCR features for text, it will become indispensable for me. Its a great app so please give it a try.
Great to see the release of 2.0 and to get a sneak peek of the newest feature. I started using Mem in 2021, and have kept using it above other note apps because it’s easy to dump or write notes in it, and to use Copilot or search to retrieve, compile, summarize, outline, or create new notes based on existing notes. I think the new organizing features of Copilot and Chat will be great assets for reducing the need to manually categorize or organize notes. Note: Today I also discovered that I can use the Web Clipper to create a note from a website and add notes to an existing note via the Web Clipper.
I’ve spent a fair bit of time using both Obsidian and Notion for personal knowledge management. They’re both great tools - powerful and flexible - but they often end up feeling a bit cluttered or heavy, especially when you’re trying to think and create quickly. That’s why Mem has been such a refreshing change for me. If you’re after a simple, uncluttered PKM tool with strong AI built right in, this is the one. It doesn’t just store your notes - it links your ideas together and even answers your questions based on what’s already in your knowledge base. It genuinely feels like the tool is thinking alongside you. The jump to Mem 2.0 makes that experience even better. The team seems to have stripped away anything unnecessary and focused completely on what Mem does best: helping you stay in flow, make connections, and focus on the work that matters. I’m honestly loving Mem 2.0 so far. And if they add just a few things - like a native Android app, quick capture from WhatsApp, or direct Readwise integration - it would easily become my all-in-one PKM solution. If you’ve been looking for a tool that doesn’t just hold your notes but helps you think, I’d highly recommend giving Mem a try.
I've been using personal knowledge management tools for a few years now and have jumped back and forward between a few different tools: Obsidian, LogSeq, Notion, Craft, to name a few. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. Obsidian is powerful and flexible but still feels a bit like a developer tool - I found myself wading through endless (though admittedly clever) plugins. Notion is the ultimate do-everything tool but using it for journaling and note-taking feels a bit clunky to me and the AI add-on is costly. But what Mem does really well is it creates a simple intuitive note-taking environment and uses AI for surfacing genuinely useful insights and connections. It's the first tool that feels truly like a helpful "second brain" rather than simply a repository of semi-structured notes that take effort to navigate. P.S. I love the recent UX update too!
I’ve been using Mem since early in its conception and development. Mem 1.0 became my go-to note taking app and now with Mem 2.0 the team has done a great job reinventing something that already had my vote - making something great! I was drawn to Mem’s unstructured approach to organizing allowing for both human provided ‘tags’ (which are now ‘collections’) and AI provided tags; adding Mems is quick and easy (via writing, voice, web clips or forwarded emails) and search is AI assisted for quick access to specific content. Interacting with an individual Mem, an entire collection or the entire ‘knowledge base’ is intuitive, easy and powerful through ‘chatting.’ Mem learns from me and gets better and better at being a ‘smart assistant.’
I’ve tried almost every note app out there, but Mem 2.0 is the one that finally feels frictionless. The backslash formatting is so intuitive that I actually enjoy organizing my thoughts instead of fighting the interface. The search and autotagging features make it ridiculously easy to find what I need without spending time sorting. Plus, the Chrome extension is a game changer for saving articles and webpages for later. Mem just gets out of your way and lets you think.
I've been using it since early days, and even used it to help me write my first book. One of the most essential software solutions I use. The mem team has consistently added high-quality updates to the software, and Mem 2.0 is rock solid. The audio capture feature alone is worth using the software, let alone the tons of other amazing features.
By far the easiest, most intuitive note taking system I've ever used and, I'm sure like many of you reading this, I've tried A LOT of them. Mem just gets it - no need to learn a new organizational system/method, no need to learn a new language, easy to search and access from almost any device - it's essentially as close to plug-n-play into your workflow as a productivity/memory tool can get. I've been a Mem user since shortly after their first launch and Mem 2.0 is an outstanding upgrade to an already wonderful tool. The product is well worth investing in. Way to go Kevin and team - keep it up!
I absolutely lobe this app so much, the only thing i have an issue with os the fact that its still a bit buggy on my ipad, and the price is not worth it, there ahould be tiered options, you can do so much more for the same price in other apps, and letting users only do 25 notes a month is crazy, ai sure but Notes … no not cool it should not cost that much
This new update is so exciting! Before, I was always switching note apps (OneNote, Evernote, Notion, Obsidian, ...) to find a way to really remember and use my ideas and notes. But wasn't satisfied... Until I found MEM 3 years ago! You've created an amazing app, my notes are so great and helpful now! Thanks for your work and journey.
