I'm a medical student who has tried Anki a couple times in my past 2 years of studies, but a few months ago, just gave up on using it. Creating cards took way too long, and pre-made decks would not match the lectures I'd want to review. PDF2Anki piqued my interest though, as it solves these problems by still giving me control over what I want to review, but without all the time needed to create cards individually. I was skeptical, but decided to try it. I was impressed, and so far it's everything it claims to be! Drag-and-drop makes it easy to upload files for conversion, and files are available as .txt or .apkg. I had 0 problems opening the files on Anki. The questions generated are at a level of detail that I'd expect from my exams. It takes a bit longer than expected to process the documents and I still do have to go through the cards and delete some duplicates, sample questions, and unnecessary questions (e.g. I don't need to know the author/lecturer name), but it still greatly reduces the time I would have taken to create cards on my own. I love that I can go form consuming the lecture content to active recall in just a few minutes! PDF2Anki allows me to reap the benefits of active recall without expending too much time and energy, which we med students already lack. I can see how using this more consistently can give me extra time to sleep or rest, or get more rounds of Anki practice. Thank you to the team!
It generates interesting questions that are helpful to study and picked out information I skimmed over. However, a few answers didn't make sense or displayed "Data incomplete" as the answer. Several answers were worded a little too close to the question, were occasionally (but rarely) incomplete or just weren't very useful. e.g. What is the role of the isomerase in the metabolism of monounsaturated fatty acids? A: The isomerase is required for the metabolism of monounsaturated fatty acids. Q:What is the immediate emergency treatment required for acidosis with a blood pH level below 3.0 mmol/L? A:Immediate emergency treatment is required for acidosis with a blood pH level below 3.0 mmol/L. These flaws were still incredibly uncommon and the vast majority of questions I found to be helpful. Flawed questions can easily be deleted. Overall, it's not perfect but I love it and will be using it. Excited to see further development.
I think it's amazing! Saves me so much time from creating the decks manually. The questions generated are helpful for revision and are actually quite similar to the decks I'd normally create from the lecture slides. I've recommended this web app to my friends who also use flashcards! Thank you so much for taking the time and effort in creating PDF2Anki. For further improvements I was wondering if you could look into resolving issues related to Card ID fields? Sometimes I encounter issues when importing the .apkg files and the error message is "Notes skipped, as up-to-date copies are already in your collection: 51", even when I'm importing new files. Not sure if it's an Anki issue instead tho loll
This newly created AI that generates Anki flashcards is a game-changer in the realm of studying and knowledge retention. I'm still exploring the features of the AI. There are a few things that the users will definitely benefit if improved: 1. pictures are excluded from the generation 2.sometimes error occurs when editing the question in preview section 3.the questions in preview section are located in pages that they do not belong to
I like the new feature of browsing flashcards in pages. However, if I need to edit cards on one particular page (one big reason is sometimes the program just skips entire pages), I want to then download only that page of cards; when I click download, it downloads the entire set again.
I love how the app automatically converts my lecture notes into flashcards. This saves me a ton of time, and it's much more efficient than trying to create flashcards manually. The flashcards are also very well-formatted, with clear and concise questions and answers. I also appreciate the fact that the app allows me to customize my flashcards. Overall, I think your app is a great tool for students who are looking for a way to learn more effectively and efficiently. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a way to improve their study habits. Thank you for your hard work on this app!
PDF2Anki is amazing! Using flashcards is always helpful to my study but making them is such a pain (I even gave up at some point and hired my friends to help me with the notes). Now, with PDF2Anki, all I have to do is writing my notes as details as I can. The team even updated on Vietnamese language notes so it is really a big plus for me. Conrgrats on launching and hope to see PDF2Anki blooming!
PDF2ANKI has revolutionized the way I study. Version 3 is a significant improvement, offering a sleek interface and a wealth of new features. The ability to create personalized notes and receive targeted feedback through Tutor Mode has helped me achieve better results in less time. With PDF2ANKI, studying is not only efficient but also enjoyable. I cant imagine my academic journey without it.
I am on my 2nd year of nursing and it has been hard lately. With all the memorization and the need to read long chapters for a 5-item quiz was burning me out. Thank God for PDF2Anki making my life easier letting me basically review without spending long hours making flashcards. I'd definitely put pdf2anki in my "acknowledgements" when i graduate lol.
I searched for many sites that do the same thing, but none of them were able to create cards from files with this accuracy, and none of them also contained many features such as tutoring mode and notes. They worked hard on the v3 update, and all things changed in this update. Good luck to them.
