I really like Opal for helping me stay focused during the workday. But also for the opposite, to being able to relax on the weekend and not being allowed to visit apps like Slack, Gmail etc. Has really made a difference to change my behavior on how I use my apps on my phone. A bit pricy for personal use...
The difference is Opal actually works. I thought maybe it would be gimmicky but within a few days it forever changed my relationship with my phone. It creates the right amount of friction to keep you from compulsively getting lost in distracting apps. Not only am I more focused, but I actually don't even ~want~ to interact with my phone when it's not necessary.
Love it! 😻 Been using the app for year+ and convinced easily 10+ people to use it. It's a game changer for schools!
Sometimes you just can't put your phone down while working on your computer. I've found Opal to be a great app blocker - it works better than screen time limits because they're easy to override.
