Longtime TTS tinkerer here. After bouncing among Intelligent Speaker, Narro, NaturalReader, Speechify, and more, I’ve landed on Audioread as my daily driver. It nails what matters: modern, natural-sounding voices, real control over settings, and a rock-solid podcast feed I rely on every day. The browser extension just works (no random errors), support is responsive, and the devs are clearly active. It’s not quite a perfect five yet, there are a few small tweaks I’d love to see, but it’s a smart, fairly priced pick, especially if you listen as much as I do.

Audioread is a complete game-changer for anyone who consumes a lot of written content daily. I’ve been using it to turn articles, newsletters, and long reports into natural-sounding audio that I can listen to while commuting, exercising, or just taking a walk. Since using it, I’ve been able to “read” way more, and I find myself actually finishing long pieces I would have otherwise put off. As a satisfied user for over a year, I can confidently say that Audioread has revolutionized how I consume written content—from daily news to complex contracts—by effortlessly converting text into a high-quality, audiobook-like experience. As someone with dyslexia and learning disabilities, reading has often been a challenge, but Audioread has made the written word far more accessible and enjoyable. I am legally blind. I use a screen reader. AudioRead is an essential tool for collecting the documents and webpages I want to casually listen to later from the portability of my podcast player. No other product or service makes the listening experience easier, and with a transparent straight forward billing process and credit meter. I only wish I could accept the risk and automatically add more content to AudioRead without the one article per day RSS limit.

As a dyslexic, Audioread has been a lifesaver. I can now take in so much of the world that would have otherwise passed me by. The process really is seamless, the sound is consistently high, and I’ve thrown some massive pieces at it without a hitch. If you’ve struggled with reading like I have, this is worth it.

Audioread is a great tool that makes it easy to convert any text into speech, but what I really love is that they allow me to sync my playlist with my podcast player (Apple Podcasts in this case), so that I can listen to all my content in one place. The audio sounds great, the app works well, and it's simple.

fast audio to text. flexible between raw text, pdfs, or website pages! user interface takes a bit to get used to... and i would prefer to have an interactive transcript WHILE the text is being read allowed. also would prefer if it could overlay the website so i could read along with the audio.

I use this tool daily. I forward it emails from mailing lists and love that I can get them in my podcast player. Specifically newsletters like Matt Levine are great for this -- long emails I don't want to sit down and read... much better as a podcast.

I get sent long documents and emails for work. Used audioread to get a feed on my Overcast podcast app. Voice is smooth and product lives up to what it promises, would recommend to others.
