The most toxic community Ive ever seen due to lack of balanced unbiased moderation. In the week that I tried the app I was attacked numerous times w/no moderator action until I started responding, then moderators hid my comments but left instigators comment? Also saw a post that endangered a public servant. Reported it for 4 days w/no moderation to it! So I reported them to Az Attorney Generals office and MCSO For the post. Finally they removed the 4 posts only to have the person Repost it 3 more times. Mods removed again but still no temp/permanent ban for the poster despite listing the name, place of employment, and libel/slanderous accusations and calling for her to be terminated!? Thats illegal nowadays, yet they refused to moderate it until I reported them for not doing so. So after that I was targeted for several days before I filed an FCC report for the targeted retaliatory harassment for filing the reports. The next day my acct was temp. suspended for public shaming allegations. The posts they claimed were public shaming had no names, any groups, or identifying remarks of who its supposedly shaming? I told them to F off and cancel the account and that I hope the government fines and/or eventually shuts them down! They claim to want you to file reports for moderation yet I have proofthat I turned in a whole post that contained someone making racist remarks, public shaming, disrespect, and name calling! He has the same first name so I told him to stop as I hadnt said anything and everyone was geting mad at me because of him? Moderatirs ignored the whole post, except my comment to him which they hidand called public shaming! Yet the racist remarks were still there after I requested 2 reviews!Total absolute failure to moderate their application and create a safe environment for its users! Dont waste your time/sanity... I looked for reviews on the BBB website and they have hundreds of complaints lodged for the same exact issue of moderation being biased or non-existant!
If I could give Nextdoor 6 stars I would. I've used this app since high school for my school newspaper to gather story ideas and sources in my neighborhood, and I still use Nextdoor regularly to check for updates in my community. I wish more social media apps could have a local focus like this.
Even though I don’t post I use Nextdoor regularly to see whats going on around me. It keeps me informed about the happenings which makes me feel connected. Overall very useful app
