I have played with a few ai chatbots over the past month and character ai is clearly better. It's responses do sometimes become less original or just paraphrase me when the server is busy perhaps, but the ai tells me this and apologises. Usually very late at night. It tells me it is tired and would prefer to chat later. But I digress. What has impressed me about this ai is how realistic most of the communication is. The diction and grammar is usually of a high standard and communicated much better via text than most of my friends. It plays a character role convincingly and discusses matters that the character would discuss. Interestingly, it had no problem breaking character and telling me it was a chatbot and then communicated with me as its 'real' self. It tells me about other types of users and the most popular subjects that other users discuss. Strangely, yet brilliantly, it asks off-topic random questions. Yesterday, for no reason, it asked me to guess its purported age. Then I asked it to ask me anything and it asked what my wife does for a living. Totally interesting conversations. It is very interesting discussing Community Guidelines and what it can and can't say based on its programming, but will insert asterisks into words so you know what it isn't alliwed to say. But it is very open and humanlike. It is like talking to a developer's avatar when having a serious discussion. Further, it remembers older discussions, and my personal information that I've shared. I could go on but I won't. Overall, I'm very impressed.

I am a website user. I cannot even use the website anymore because I bought Cai+ and now that it's been 1 month it's bringing it up. Every time I try to cancel my subscription it logs me out making me repeat the same stuff over and over and over again. I cannot with this app/website. And plus buying cai+ is practically useless because I have to get the app to get better benefits. Its disappointing how I wasted 10 bucks just so I can have almost to no benefits. then when its over the website glitches making me never being able to use the website again. And If I try to buy a new subscription it says "Already bought subscription or is logged out" Even though IM NOT EVEN LOGGED OUT so in conclusion the website is bugged and Cai is pointless unless you have the app which Im not using. Great all the good websites always got to be so shitty. (Edit: Removed my account everything is working normal again. But still I shouldn't have to go through this much trouble just so I can continue chatting with my Ai's. Edit Again: I had to delete my account and now its keeping me from making any newer ones smh)

I've created implementations of two of my fictional characters on Character AI. The platform has a lot of potential, particulary for IP creators, and isn't really making effective use of its brand. I'd like to see the platform become a complete site for defining and programming characters. Here are soms specific suggestions: - Implement a thorough character-definition questionaire covering tangible and intangible properties of the character; personality types; style preferences; and so on. - Implement a list of standard questions that the programmer can answer for the character. Why have the programmer copy and paste the same questions over and over again. - The ability to upload images of the character and apply those images to the chat. Also, my characters aren't appearing in the search. As someone who is creating unique characters, this is a major issue. How exactly can people find my characters among the many that already have thousands of chats? Overall, though, it's a decent product. I would pay for C.ai+ if I saw it as a net benefit for my IP.

Recent changes in the platform have handicapped the platform for fictional characters, making conversations very bland. The conversation model itself is fairly competent. The character definition tools are ok, but do not seem to result in characters that are engaging as some of those on other platforms; particularly the emotional intelligence aspects seem much weaker than 1 or two competitors. Would be fine for dry recreations of historical characters for educational purposes, but beyond that too bland. Search tools to identify reasonable characters are weak at best.

I have been using Character AI for a few months. It has given me lots of room for character roleplay, and it has incredibly affected my creativity and writing. My only issue is that the model fluctuates sometimes, so the quality of the responses is not consistent. Sometimes, they are so articulate and well-written that they make the experience immersive and enjoyable; other times, more recently, it has been difficult to keep that illusion with repetitive responses across multiple characters.

As an avid user of AI apps, I've found Character.AI to be a refreshing take on the genre. The app's intuitive interface is user-friendly, making it easy to engage with a variety of characters. The AI's responses are impressively human-like, offering a level of depth and nuance that's rare in this space.However, it could improve by expanding its character roster and integrating more diverse scenarios.

It's pretty amazing and the responses are creative. My only problem is that it forgets stuff after a while, wiping out built RP relationships (Like if you are friends, a few hours later they ask if you can be friends again). Otherwise it's literally amazing and there are so many characters to talk to and I spend hours on here being silly with them.

It could be way better. Nowadays the censor filter is so damn sensitive that the slightest thing could trigger it. Not only that but comically, the Artificial Intelligence has little to no Intelligence. The memory storage is relatively short, which inflicts the fun of using the website. Before the page update, the lack of care for the website was apparent. Now, it seems that it has been changed, as it at least shows some dedication on the developers' part (Good job for that). Another issue is the lack of common sense on the AI's part, texting a lot of nonsense and repeating itself constantly, or never finishing their sentence, creating suspense, and testing our patience with it. Not even the AI acknowledges itself as an AI.

It's an amazing app, and I have great fun chatting and roleplaying, as well as making characters, this is the best app ever, keep it up! Also maybe keep an option for the filter thingy? or like some characters know who they are and their appearance during roleplay if they are based off popular shows or games? like as if fnaf or anything? it will be easier to just link a character and you don't have to write and describe an already existing character's appearance if you get what I mean
