I believe Vy takes a vision approach similar to ChatGPT atlas. However the model feels very lightweight and accurate. Moreover, Vy has access to all the tools a desktop user has and a general understanding of how everything works. The model is also a proprietary model rather than being a wrapper which helps with rejecting sophisticated prompt injection attacks which some other products like browser use may fail at. Claude web browser extension is pretty similar to it, however it takes a DOM approach, which in the long run falls short. Vision is generalized while DOM approaches are specialized to certain task.

Vy is a phenomenal product. The vision first approach over DOM based approach that the other CUA agents use is truly game changing. It helps the model understand the real content of the text or the image rather than just extract pure text. Vy's speed of thinking + clicking is definitely an area of improvement. Along with it, sometimes the model makes assumptions which frustrates the user.

Loved free tier, and believe this product would become much better in short period of time.

I love how it learns from its own errros - like a real smart human do. After several weeks working with it I have full confidence that Vy is doing great job, releasing bunch of my time. Sometimes really stupid errors happen in the places human would not conduct any error. but it is a part of the Moravec paradox. So you need to be careful using it, until no errros conducted for longer period.

I attempted to automate the creation of a LinkedIn banner using Vy by integrating it with Canva. While the tool successfully navigates to Canva and initiates the banner creation process, it struggles with reliably selecting and replacing text elements. It often attempts to change the name but then prematurely jumps to the next task, leaving the original text blank or incomplete. Additionally, Vy appears to take considerable time to interpret what’s happening on the screen—such as capturing and understanding screen elements—which slows down the overall automation process. To improve performance, it would be beneficial if Vy could incorporate not just UI-based automation but also background-level automation. This could enable faster decision-making and smoother task execution. Overall, I see immense potential in the tool. However, it still needs refinement in areas like automation speed and fluid tab navigation within a browser.
