We love Heroku because it lets us focus on our app, not on server configs. Their straightforward CLI, scalable dynos, and integrated add‑ons mean we can deploy in minutes—ideal for both quick prototypes and serious production workloads. Alternatives Considered: AWS EC2/Elastic Beanstalk: Powerful, but more setup overhead than we needed initially. Google Cloud Run: Slick container‑based approach, but Heroku’s developer experience is simpler. Azure App Service: Feature‑rich, yet Heroku’s one‑command deployments suited our quick iteration style better.
Heroku has been an invaluable asset for Sourcer AI by providing a reliable and scalable platform to host our database. Its managed service simplifies deployment, scaling, and maintenance, allowing us to focus on developing and refining our AI-powered fact-checking features. With Heroku’s robust infrastructure, we ensure high availability and performance, enabling Sourcer AI to handle a growing number of user requests efficiently. Additionally, Heroku’s seamless integration with our existing tools and frameworks has streamlined our development process, ensuring quick updates and smooth operations. This has been crucial in maintaining the responsiveness and reliability of Sourcer AI.
Heroku is an easy-to-use PaaS, it provides you all the tools you need to deploy quickly and continuously. I'm a huge fan of using Heroku for building side projects and have found it has many features that allow you to scale as well. Heroku is much easier to work with than AWS when you don't need the level of customization that AWS provides.
Easy to deploy software quickly, with lots of integrations. No longer has a free tier though.
