If you're an AWS customer, this is one of those no-brainer solutions once you discover it. With AWS On-Demand pricing, you have no long term commitments and maximum flexibility based on your usage — but you'll pay an arm and a leg. With AWS Reserved, AWS instances are basically set aside just for you — for periods of 2-3 years. So you might pay less but you're locked into a long term commitment. If you're a startup, your needs may change and so you can't risk taking the long term bet just to save some money. Enter Antimetal: they use AI to analyze your AWS usage and procure services only based on what you need, saving you money and avoiding long term lock-in. They're able to do this by creating a secondary marketplace for your Reserved contracts — and they automate the buying, selling, and transferring of these commitments among their customers. Win-win-win. And, best of all — it's free for startups for the first year, and then after that, Antimetal takes its cut from the money they save you. Like I said: no-brainer! 🧠
Congrats on the launch! I love this concept and is very sought-after by all AWS users. The actual costs of running in AWS can shoot out without the proper configurations and tweaks. Having said this, I just installed animetal in my development account and it was one of the simplest integrations I've ever done. They pre-generate a stack that you launch and grant them the level of access to recommend/optimize your usage with the click of a button, truly impressed. However, the system didn't manage to find any recommendations for me (I'm sure there must be many to suggest, especially around lambdas concurrent executions, memory use, etc). Could it be that my infrastructure is mostly serverless? (ApiG, Lambda, DynamoDB). I'm curious to know if at the moment the focus is on EC2 instances, and if so, what are the plans for the future. It has huge potential.
This is all I wanted. I was using 3rd party providers till now who were using AWS at their base layer and taking almost 2x markup fees. Now I am gonna deploy my apps on my own AWS account. Would love to see Azure too apart from AWS.
As Head of Product and Revenue at Tinder, I oversaw the team that managed our relationship with AWS and the significant cloud spend that accompanied it. It took an entire team and thousands of man hours every year for us to reign in our cloud costs—despite those efforts, we still faced uncertainty whether we had missed anything—which we undoubtedly did. With Antimetal, that all changes.
Congrats on the launch!!!! The growth/new features seem like a big step up. It’s great to see a platform so dedicated to helping users optimize their AWS spend and continuously evolving based on user feedback. The confidence to offer pay (if no savings are found) is a bold move. I’m curious, with the incorporation of customer feedback and new features, how are you maintaining the user-friendliness of the platform, ensuring that both new and existing users can easily navigate and utilize the enhanced functionalities? (If not much has changed from a user perspective - feel free to ignore!
Horrible customer support experience. I scheduled a call with them for onboarding at 10 PM my time and Luke didn't show up. Disrespectful. I'll try Pump and see if I get better luck.
