Congrats on the launch -- amazing product! I'm a developer, not a video editor, but on numerous occasions require an edited video. I didn't even think to approach it from a programmatic standpoint which would be much easier for me; definitely going to use this product and I wish you the best of luck! Wow, I’ve been experimenting with Remotion for a few weeks now, and this tool has completely changed how I think about video production. Remotion 2 is a game-changer for video creators who are comfortable with code. I never imagined I could generate videos with React components until I tried Remotion. This version feels faster and more refined. Server-side rendering is a huge improvement, and using props to animate just makes sense if you come from a React background. There is a bit of a learning curve — building videos like apps is a shift — but once it clicks, it opens up so many possibilities. If you're a developer looking to automate or customize video content, this tool is in a league of its own.
I spent years managing my own Puppeteer (and before that, PhantomJS😱) render system for internal use doing the exact thing this product does, but Remotion has taken it to a whole other level. Remotion is a whole ecosystem for programmatically building and rendering videos with HTML/CSS/javascript. From multi-platform renderers.. including AWS Lambda... to a player-based web preview... to the eslint rules to help with the tricky parts of distributed video rendering, everything is covered. I'm a delighted paid customer.
Using Remotion I can quickly create still images and videos for social media programmatically. Even as I'm not really good with React nor TypeScript, the docs and the community are very helpful so I can build anything I was looking for.
Awesome library! Been using this in the previous versions and Jonny always fixes issues/implements features super fast. The community discord is great too. Can't wait for v4 features.
Super cool library for Video Makers (include "Video Maker Makers"!) I used my own library for building video editing tools, but Remotion is much better.
