Sutro

I have used Sutro for a couple of seasons and have seen them go from startup to full production. Sure some hiccups along the way, but no other company has a product that uses liquid tests and I have found that their wireless connectivity is great. I have a large back yard and my hub is inside the house but still stays connected to the monitor in the pool. Wifi isn't an issue anymore like it was with pHin and Water Guru. They had customer support issues with the demand from this past season I was told, but they always compensated if service was unavailability or I got a bad cartridge and they said they added additional staff. Using Sutro has saved me a ton of money since I can now run my chlorine at 2ppm and can keep an eye on it daily and if it starts to drop I can adjust before my pool goes green. I also don't have to worry about my pH ruining my heater and I can keep it dialed in with the daily tests. Overall I'd highly recommend and if you have issues that aren't resolved then ask to have a customer support manager help. I did that and the issue was resolved within a day..

I thought the Sutro could be an early warning sign for low chlorine or sudden pH imbalances. Sutro uses a cartridge with capacity for about 90 tests (a mont worth). Their is a unit floating in my pool with the cartridge chemicals that sends messages to a hub, which in term sends to their server, which finally sends me updates. The Sutro sends a reading to my iPhone every 8 hours (that is the most frequent it can do) with FC, pH and TA. Unfortunately, the FC maximum reading is 5+

I use a Sutro that takes readings 3 times a day and sends them to my phone. Uses La Motte reagent cartridges. That gets me 3 important readings TA, FC, pH. I use this to do my regular chemical maintenance. This works well when I go away as I can tell the person at home what to add and how much without having to burden them with testing.

Have the Sutro. It is colorimic based testing using La Motte reagents so it has similar accuracy to the 5 in 1 test kits. Way better than other automatic testers. Totally recommanded.

I used to say to people that since I have Sutro on my pool, Im all set. Its really accurate device that measures alkalinity ever since the other devices dont.

Have been working with Sutro support (when they care to respond) over the last 30 days, trying to get the newest cartridge to work. Have had to take photos and answer all kinds of questions, do all kinds of tests for them off and on for weeks. Ultimately, no go. Now trying to get a refund on this device and cancellation of service, they're trying to tell me I'm out of the refund window but they'll be nice enough to give me a free month. (THE DEVICE DOESN'T FREAKING WORK ANYMORE!) Their warranty is for 1 year so I should be covered, but I don't even want to continue using this POS. UPDATE: TWO MONTHS LATER, still fighting with them about the issue. They are now asking me to try a fifth cartridge in a row. I’m sure this new cartridge will work where the previous 4 did not. Yes, it’s definitely not the unit itself! Morons Even in the preceding 11 months, it was routinely a pain in the butt to get it to pair, get it to accept a new cartridge, and so on. And the value just isn't there on a spa. Pretty sure I can remember toss in 1/4 c of Ph Up every few days? Now I know...
