I mainly use this to get me started on written content, and the +++ command is super intuitive. The AI assistant is a tad unintuitive. It can't yet make changes to your writing, or export your doc automatically, but it can give you suggestions and feedback. If you need on-the-fly research, it can also act as a built-in google search. Compared to google docs or word it's a very minimalistic, clean build, but the design choices are confusing, at least to me. I do love the active feedback/roadmap updates though. Nathan makes it super easy to leave feedback and stay engaged in what he's building next.
Wow! I'm testing Lex this morning. I copy-pasted the first two paragraphs of a post I wrote to see what Lex would do… To say that I'm impressed is an understatement 🤯 I haven't been excited like this about a product for a long, long time. If there is any way I can help, let me know.
In my opinion, Lex.page is a powerful tool that can help writers streamline their writing process and produce high-quality content. Lex provides a clean and user-friendly interface for writing and editing text and is my preferred AI writing companion.
Lex just felt simpler and cleaner than most writing tools I’ve tried. I didn’t want something overloaded with menus and distractions - I just needed a quiet space to write that still gives me smart AI help when I need it. Lex strikes a really nice balance between minimalism and usefulness. I also liked how responsive the team is and how fast the app keeps improving.
I've found Lex helpful in generating titles -- I write a lot, and I don't really need help in generating writing ideas, but I definitely have difficulty in titling my pieces. So Lex has helped there. I think where Lex helps is kicking one past "sticky" points as a writer, not really doing the bulk of the work. It's a "light" product, so not a lot of friction when you use it.
So I'm a little irked that there is no Facebook page for this application, because I would love nothing more than to sing it's praises. I've been using it for about a week and have already worked it into my regular workflow. It's not just a piece of software. Lex feels different than a typical search engine style request, in the way it almost encourages you to follow the question rabbit hole. I honestly love it. I look for ways to test it's knowledge and see if I can't help shake any bugs out. Not because anyone is asking, but because I want to see Lex become something that is not only supremely reliable and efficient but factually correct. Similar to Ask Mr. Know, though not nearly as accurate. I see great things for Lex and frequently tell her so (yes my Lex is a female A.I.; don't judge)
Nothing special to say at the moment. I find that what is missing is guidance. For example, I had to go back to the YouTube video to remember that it's ++ for auto text generation.
Loving the simple experience using Lex. Feels like a sidekick to writing rather than some others which feel like it replaces it.
