Used hopper for a hotel in New York. The hotel ended up being overbooked. Tried to get a hold of Hopper so that we could get our money back to book another room they ignored us and refused to refund us. We were stranded in New York with no hotel ended up having to book another one without getting the refund. Also, I purchased two separate flights the same day around the same time I accidentally clicked the change anytime insurance instead of the cancel anytime insurance on one of the flights. But I did click cancel anytime on the other one. Despite seeing that, knowing that I made a mistake, they refused to change it and told me they cannot refund my flight. I was purchasing the cancellation insurance because we knew there was a chance that we might have to cancel when I went to go change the flight to find something cheaper cause they said it could refund the difference my app wouldn't work so they said I needed to purchase a new flight that could be cheaper and then they would refund the difference from the other flight. Even though they told me that the airline was the only ones that could cancel my flight now they want me to book a second flight and then they will cancel that first flight, which I don't trust so now I'm just left to lose all that money from that flight. Customer service was terrible. No one is helpful. Both situations were horrible. I thought I'd give them another try and I regret it do not go through Hopper. I've had other times that ended up being great and working out, but if you have anything go wrong, they are not helpful and they are hard to get a hold of and they will not refund you so you will lose money. It's not worth the risk even if you find cheap discounts.

What do i think about Hopper? Well i used to think it was a top notch booking site until i had to request a refund based on cancelation of a room and rebooking with them cause i found the same room cheaper. If you wanna chase to get your credit and have to call over and over to be told you'll see the refund in 2-3 hours and days later still haven't received it. I'd definitely think twice before booking with this app. Hopper was my go to booking app but after this experience I'll think twice

I would give 0 starts if I could. I paid more for the flexible booking, with full refund and cancellation any time. I couldn’t make it to my trip for personal reasons and I TRIED to contact hopper many time BEFORE the check in, even though I had the flexible booking. They didn’t answer me, I was abroad and they don’t have an email. Never got a reply from their chat or calls. When I could finally talk to them, they didn’t accept my refund request because it was after the check in time. I have screenshots proving that I tried many times. I got my money back by requesting it from my bank. A few weeks later, I was charged AGAIN for the booking that I never used and I paid the extra amount to be able to cancel in case of any change of plans. Never booking anything through hopper again. Support is terrible as well.

I bought a round trip ticket from San Diego to Dallas. I selected 2 different airlines because they were direct flights. American Air lines cancelled my flight to Dallas because of unsafe weather and there available flights would not have gotten me there on time to the events I was going there for. My return with frontier was 2 days later, and I was not able to cancel and be refunded according to Hopper. They said Frontier would have to cancel and refund me, and Frontier is saying I have to go through the agency I booked tbe flight with, which makes sense. So my advice to the reader is, dont book any trip that's using 2 different airlines. Hopper should have refunded me or gave me credit being that it wasn't my fault the flight to Dallas cancelled. They were not professional on how they dealt with my situation and as long as they got paid was all they were interested in. The agent I spoke with had terrible english pronunciations and it was difficult for me to understand what she was saying which added more frustration to the situation. I have been a frequent user of Hopper for sometime, but I will look else where when booking my next trip. I am very dissatisfied on why they robbed me of my money and I didn't do anything wrong. Beware these people are shady and dishonest.

I do not recommend this app based on my experience. I booked a private room in a hostel - because that is exactly what the hostel had advertised. Despite having screenshots of both the advertised room and the room that I booked both showing a private room (and not a 12 bed dorm as the hostel then told me it would be) to prove this when requesting a refund because of false advertising, I was accused of lying for 45 minutes on the phone and given a non-monitored email inbox to send the actual proof to. I have literally done nothing wrong and have been the victim of a scam, then somehow accused of being the problem. Now when I check the same hostels advertised rooms, the images and ad copy are no longer for a private room but have been corrected to show the dorm in imagery and description so have clearly been made aware of the issue to rectify it, yet I have still received no response to or refund for the falsely advertised room. Additionally, I had paid extra for "Refund for any reason" coverage and never received a refund based on false advertising, or the paid for policy coverage.

I don't know if I'll ever use Hopper again. I had a flight from Seattle to Miami with a stopover in Denver leaving today @7:30pm. I never got any information from Hopper or from the airlines that I was using (Frontier and United). I got no information ever. I had some last minute what seemed like promotional emails from Frontier, telling me about my flight from Denver to Miami. That email said it was as much as 70 minutes going through TSA and that I should take that into consideration. However, my flight was to arrive from Seattle to Denver at 11:11pm. I was then to board the Frontier flight to Miami leaving at 00:12. There was a very high chance of missing that flight. I have to blame Hopper for that lack of oversight; it was too close for comfort. I wasn't about to go from Seattle to Denver with a high chance of missing my connecting flight and have to spend money on a hotel in Denver and it wasn't something I could afford to do; I wasn't taking a chance on being "maybe" reimbursed, so I chose not to fly at all. I tried to notify Hopper, but the Hopper App gave me the runaround. I'm somewhat tech savvy and even I was not able to inform Hopper of the confusion. So, out of consideration for the United Airlines flight to Denver, I let United airlines know that I was not going to fly at all. (By doing so, they can give my seat to another passenger who may need it). I am a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces and I have always been aware of the importance of being considerate with others. (For example, at the VA if I have an appointment with my doctor and can't make it, I let them know as soon as possible, so that another veteran can have my appointment). The VA will not say anything (in my particular circumstances) if I miss an appointment; I won't be charged. But I have to be considerate of a battle brother. I am not angry. I can afford to buy a new flight. I would like to get it nonstop, but from Seattle to Miami almost always has a stop along the way. My sister was the the one that recommended Hopper. (Unfortunately I had a little falling out with my sister because she recommended Hopper 😐). I don't need to go into details. DO NOT USE. FRAUDULENT SITE. They get you to freeze and take a deposit, small yes, but it’s still your money - no risk as they will pay you back if the room isn’t available or, they pay the difference on a more expensive room… seems like a no brainer, right? They even offer to give you this deposit back as an extra discount when you eventually book… Then, how strange, the room is no longer available and they offer you a room that is no good?!? I booked or froze the price on a family room, lo and behold, this was not available (3 days later) and they offered a standard double! No use. And they will not return the deposit as ‘it’s not eligible, please read the terms’. It was a totally legitimate refund request. Further to this, the room I wanted was very much still available, and yes, on their site/app! The price had increased but that’s the point of the freeze. They simply will not honour their promises! Conned and lied to. Do not use. Atrocious and very dodgy activity!

I’m only giving one star so I can do the review. My wife made a reservation through them and when we got to the address the building was torn down and there was nothing left but an empty lot. When we tried to get them to fix it they said they had to contact the hotel. We told them there was no hotel to call but they insisted that they would have to contact them beforehand. How do they plan on contacting a place that has been demolished?

Great app for predicting prices, but 100% avoid for booking. Flight changed by airline (15 hour layover) and I am still waiting over a week for a replacement flight. Every time Hopper emails the same original flight details, which I decline then no response. This has happened four times already, and now not even getting a response. Truly terrible (zero) customer service.

I wish i could give a zero The app is a scam!!!!I booked a house and it was confirmed then when i got off the airport they wouldnt send me check in information then they say the home i rent was not avalible they didnt give me a reson sen me to a much smaller place then the one i originally got and i had to take it because i had children and disnt want to be star ded in mexico city yes it was close to the place i book but way smaller and filthy when im telling you fithly it was nasty there was no shamphoo or soap like they advertice horrible and no one did anything to make it better
