Submagic

I was pumped to try Submagic. The free trial lasted about as long as it takes to make a cup of coffee, because they put the features I wanted to test behind a pay wall. So I hit “buy” and oops, clicked the wrong annual plan. No biggie, right? I paid for the correct monthly plan a minute later and asked support to swap the first charge or just refund it. Here’s what happened next: Friendly “We’ll forward this to accounts!” email. Cool. Radio silence. Follow-up: “We don’t do refunds. Ever. You already used the trial.” (Total trial time for me: maybe 20 minutes.) Link to a refund policy hidden in the fine print I never agreed to on sign-up. So in under 24 hours I owned two plans I didn’t want, zero flexibility, and a canned apology. Submagic may sell “magic,” but their customer-care playbook is pure vanishing act. Pros? The rep used nice emojis. Cons? Everything else: no clear refund notice at checkout, no grace period, no real conversation about fixing a brand-new customer’s mistake nor refunding and hiding refund policy that says: "Please, keep in mind that you accepted this policy in the GCU (General Conditions of Use) section when you created your account🙏" but trust me you'll not find it whicle creating your account. If you’re thinking of subscribing, double-check the plan and kiss that money goodbye if you mis-click. My advice: spend your cash with a company that remembers software is service, not a trapdoor or a digital product that I get to keep to warrant a no refund policy. Lesson learned: read every policy (even the invisible ones that I didn't agree on somehow) and support businesses that treat first-timers like future fans, not sunk costs.

I was extremely disappointed with SubMagic's billing practices. Without any prior notice, they charged me for a full year of service—no reminder, no heads-up, just a hefty charge out of nowhere. A company that operates on subscriptions should be transparent about upcoming renewals, not silently bill customers and hope they don’t notice. To make matters worse, their customer service was unhelpful when I reached out. Instead of acknowledging the lack of communication, they stuck to a rigid policy that left me with no recourse. This is not how you build trust with users. If you're considering SubMagic, be wary of their auto-renewal practices. Double-check your settings because they won’t remind you before they take your money.

The editor is horrible. The trim, preview, final export do not align. I thought this issue would be fixed before I rejoined Submagic. Ive had to export 5-6times just so I can align everything and it still hasn't aligned. Way too time consuming. The bandaid solution from the the support team has to fix all the videos themselves. I came back thinking that they would fix these issues, but they haven't. And now I cannot get a refund because of their policy as I am stuck in a full year. DO NOT GET TRAPPED. Use every part of the trial thoroughly.

I used this for about a year. They keep changing the features in my plan, and the support chat is very condisending and unhelpful. The last one had the tone of its not my problem, I'm not going to help you. It was great when I started but they keep changing the features every few months, which to me are questionable bueiness practices when I paid up front for everything. When I cancled, I also didn't get any of my money back. I'll be reporting these unethical business practices to the BBB.

Submagic makes the process of making reels and captioned videos super simple. My team and I would spend hours and “hack” together captions in DaVinci Resolve and other apps, but never looked great. This will save you time and make you look better! And I love how they keep adding in new caption styles, makes my production look pro!

I see a lot of potential for this project. This is a great tool especially for creators that serve a majorily english speaking audience - - while they themselves aren't speaking English as a first language. Gotta get that content across no matter what, and this tool makes a great contribution towards that goal. Kudos!

It's a game-changer for quick, intuitive video captioning. I've used other tools for captions but SubMagic is for me the best one.

Used SM as a content creator and it is great! Now I can edit 3-4 videos instead of 2 which is a nice increase of my productivity. Video editors who try to sell their services are jealous and therefore no longer worth it for this kind of format. Great work.
